Good morning Reader,

But if you refuse to serve the Lord , then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord .

Lately, I’ve had a few people ask, “How do you stay so consistent?”
Two thoughts come to mind:

1. I hate starting over.
2. My values—not my emotions—are my triggers.
   ​

Stewardship helps protect me from making emotional decisions. There are days I don’t feel like budgeting, planning, or sticking to the plan. And let’s be honest—distractions are everywhere. That’s why I have to begin with the end in mind.

Every decision either moves me closer to my goal or further away. And God gives us the freedom to choose. We can follow His guidelines—or go our own way.

That’s why I say: Your life is your budget.

To do stewardship well, you can’t just look at money. You also have to examine how you spend your time, how you communicate, who you surround yourself with, how you think, and even how you treat your body.

So let me ask you:
What is your “as for me and my house”?

Joshua made his decision. What principles and standards will guide yours as we walk through the rest of this year?

Before emotions rise, your values should already be decided.

Here’s a simple definition of value:

A person’s principles or standards of behavior—what they believe is most important in life.

In what area of your life do you need to reset or remind yourself of the standard?

Action Item​
Write out your standards so you can review them daily, weekly, or monthly.

Prayer of the Week
​Dear God, Thank You for the gift of free will. I’m grateful to serve a God who lets me choose. Teach me to value every decision—big or small—and to align them with Your truth. Let my life reflect my love for You in every area.
