Wisdom Protects You Before and After the Mistake | Monday Push

Hebrews 12:11 Newsletter

Hello Reader,

When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you. For this command is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to life,

Proverbs 6:22-23 NIV

When I was a child, my parents told me not to touch the stove because it was hot and I could get burned. They weren’t trying to keep me from cooking — they were trying to protect me. But at just four years old, I decided to check the hot dogs anyway. I ended up with burns across my shoulder and chest — scars I carry to this day. The pain is gone, but the reminder remains.

These verses show us that God gives us wisdom for the same reason: to protect and guide us. Sometimes wisdom comes before we act — as instruction to follow. Other times it comes after — as correction when we’ve made a mistake. Both are valuable, and both are necessary.

As we focus on finishing this year strong, remember: staying focused means trusting the plan God has already set before you. He is adding wisdom to your life daily. Listen to it — because ignoring wisdom can leave scars that last longer than the pain.

Reflection Question:
What advice or counsel do I need to revisit and put into practice?

Faith in Action:
Choose one piece of advice you’ve been given — and act on it this week.

Prayer of the Week
Dear God, Thank You for Your wisdom, even when it’s hard to hear. Help me to trust Your direction and remember that You’ve already gone before me. Your way is always the right way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a good week,

-Latrisa
