Wisdom Before Wealth | Monday Push

Hebrews 12:11 Newsletter

Hello Reader,

Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. - Proverbs 8:10-11 NIV

I’ve been teaching and coaching on personal finances for over a decade. In that time, I’ve worked with people who had a lot of money and with those who had very little. One truth has always remained the same:

If you can’t manage $50, you won’t be able to manage $5,000—or even $50,000.
(And with inflation, that number feels more real than ever.)

Ecclesiastes 10:19 reminds us that “money is the answer.” And it’s true—money can solve many problems. But just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so is success. At the heart of it, you play a role in how much value wisdom has in your life.

It’s a blessing when increase comes. But as we pray for God to fill the gaps, let’s also do the work to prepare ourselves—to manage and maintain the blessing when it arrives.

Reflection Question:
What wisdom do you need to ask God for to go along with your blessing?

Faith in Action:
Set aside 15–30 minutes this week to learn one piece of wisdom that will prepare you for the blessing you’re praying for.

Prayer of the Week
Dear God, I know I ask You for a lot, but I don’t want to be a careless receiver. As You bless me with provision, help me to also receive wisdom and skill to sustain it. Teach me to manage well so that I may honor You with what I have. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a good week,
