When Your Money Plan No Longer Fits | Payday Tip

Hebrews 12:11 Newsletter

Good morning Reader,

Finding my quiet time with God after marriage took work. So did learning to talk about money with my husband. Jonathan and I had to find our own rhythm, and it didn’t happen overnight.

Seasons change. Our money habits often don’t. So we keep forcing a plan that fit who we used to be.

Here’s your payday tip: Before you spend this check, ask yourself, “Where in my finances am I still forcing something that doesn’t fit this season?”

Signs your plan is stuck in an old season:

  • Your grocery budget is from two years ago and doesn’t match today’s prices.
  • Your savings goal was set when your household had a different income.
  • Your weekly budget check-in with your spouse worked before kids, but now it keeps getting skipped.
  • You come up short in the same category every month.

What to do today:

  • Pick one area that keeps coming up short.
  • Look at what you actually spent there last month.
  • Adjust the number to fit your real life.
  • Leave everything else alone for now. Just one change.

None of this means you failed. It means your season changed and your plan hasn’t caught up yet. When your plan fits your real life, it starts working with you instead of against you.

If you’re not sure where to start, or you and your spouse keep getting stuck, let’s figure it out together. Book a $47 strategy consultation, and we’ll build a plan for the season you’re actually in.

Have a great weekend,

Latrisa
