When Motivation Fades | Monday Push

Hebrews 12:11 Newsletter

Good morning Reader,

I have not mastered human wisdom, nor do I know the Holy One. - Proverbs 30:3 NLT

It’s a new month.

January energy is gone. The vision board isn’t as exciting. The goals don’t feel urgent anymore.

This is the quiet part of growth.
The part where no one is clapping.
The part where you decide who you’re becoming.

Let’s be honest.

Somewhere in your heart, there may still be a thought:
“If I just had an extra ______, things would feel easier.”

More money.
More time.
More opportunity.

But here’s the truth we don’t always want to face:

More money doesn’t fix weak habits. It exposes them.

Imagine two futures.

In one, your income increases—but your discipline doesn’t.
Spending grows. Stress grows. Pressure grows.
You make the same decisions… just with bigger numbers.

In the other, your income increases—and your character has grown first.
You pause before purchases.
You give intentionally.
You save consistently.
Peace grows.

The difference isn’t the amount.
It’s the maturity.

There’s a reason many lottery winners struggle long term. The money changed. The mindset didn’t.

Mastery is not built in one strong week.
It’s built in daily obedience.

And sometimes obedience feels boring.
But boredom is often where transformation begins.

This month isn’t about intensity.
It’s about integrity.

Reflection Question
Where am I relying on “more” instead of becoming better?

Prayer of the Week
Dear God, thank You for how far You’ve brought me. Give me discipline where I lack it and courage to change what needs to change. Help me stay faithful in small decisions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Before this week ends, pull out your budget prep sheet. Update it. Tell the truth on paper. Small faithfulness today builds freedom tomorrow.

I help Christians reduce their financial stress by improving their relationship with money. It is at that point they are able to make better decisions daily so they can live the best version of their life.
