The Surprise Blessings Money Can't Buy - My Favorite Verse Part 9 | Monday Push

Hebrews 12:11 Newsletter

Good morning Reader,

Do you remember the last time you were really surprised by a gift? Not just happy — shocked. You wondered how the person even knew you'd love it that much.

Hold onto that feeling for a minute.

My Favorite Verse: Part 9

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. - Ephesians 3:20 NLT

I read once that our creativity peaks around age 5. That's also about when other people's opinions start shaping what we believe is possible.

Think about it. My earliest memories start around then too. I started school and noticed what other kids had that I didn't. For example, I always wanted a Five Star notebook. Sometimes I got it; sometimes I didn't. Comparison creeps in and has you thinking what you have isn't good enough — or that you aren't good enough to have it. I might be being a little dramatic, but I bet you know exactly what I mean.

Today's verse is a reminder that God isn't limited by what we can picture. He has the power to do everything we've prayed for — and more.

Part of financial freedom is learning to picture the life you want again. And in my experience, money is never the only thing that changes when you steward it well. Doors open in other areas too.

  • Money in your account means less stress and better sleep.
  • Bills paid early or on time mean no worrying about the lights getting cut off.
  • Being on the same page as your spouse means fewer arguments and more peace at home.

Then there are the "favor moments" — blessings I didn't earn or plan for. Some came because I needed them. Others came just because.

All of it is more than I could've thought to ask for. My first prayer is usually to fix the problem in front of me. But God is more than a fixer. He can be that for you too, if you let Him.

Reflection Question: What's a moment in your life you know, without a doubt, was God?

Prayer of the Week: Dear God, thank you for all the things You do in the background that I cannot see. Help me notice the unexpected blessings in my answered prayers. In Jesus' name, Amen.
