I’m not sure what your Black Friday has looked like so far—you might’ve been shopping all week, or maybe you’re just getting started. Either way, last week’s payday tip was intentional. I wanted you to think ahead so you wouldn’t get swept up in the rush.

Pray for patience.
Pray to stay relaxed.
Pray to stay focused.
And stick to your budget.

This season brings all kinds of distractions—sales, pressure, emotions, and that little fear of missing out. But when you slow down and pay attention, you make better decisions. Remember your goals. And remember that your emotions can nudge you into spending more than you planned if you’re not careful.

We don’t have to step into the new year paying for decisions we made in December. We can go into the new year steady and prepared, one decision at a time.
