He Took Care of You Then | Monday Push

Hebrews 12:11 Newsletter

Good morning Reader,

I hope you've enjoyed this series on my favorite verses. I've loved sharing the verses that have kept me grounded over the years. Today's verse is new to the list.

My Favorite Verses, Part 12:

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” Hebrews 13:5 NLT

There have been seasons in my life when I felt disappointed with where I was. A lot of that comes from the frustration of waiting on progress. I won't lie to you — I've felt this way in the past year, the past month, even last week. So today I want to share a reminder I give myself often.

Money is a tool. We use it to get what we need and want, but God is our provider. He gives us our gifts, our skills, even the job that pays us. It's God who puts us in position to get what we need. When we start chasing pleasure more than our relationship with Him, we've placed more trust in the gift than the Giver. That's why we have to watch our motives. Reaching financial freedom doesn't mean your problems disappear. That's what the enemy wants you to believe — that one thing will fix everything.

Have you ever caught yourself saying, "If I can just..."?

If I can just pay this bill.
If I can just go a month without a surprise expense.
If I can just save enough for a down payment.

Those things might help in the moment. But they don't guarantee trouble won't come again. I think about the model prayer: "Give us this day our daily bread." Have you thanked God for your daily bread lately? We get used to everyday conveniences and forget that just a few decades ago, things like air conditioning and hot water were luxuries.

The same God who gave you air conditioning and hot water when you didn't even know to ask for them is still working on your behalf right now. The bill you're worried about, the job you're praying for — He's already moving toward it, the same way He moved before. So while you're climbing toward what's next, stay grateful for the blessings you once begged for. God took care of you then. He will take care of you now.

Reflection Question: What blessing did God provide in a past season that you're taking for granted today?

This week, take 3–5 minutes each day to reflect on a blessing you once prayed for.

Prayer of the Week: Dear God, thank You for providing my daily needs. Help me stay grateful for where I am today, and never forget how far You've brought me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Talk to you soon!
