Happy payday!

Quick question — what's the first thing your paycheck does when it hits your account?

If it's covering bills, or bracing for what's left... I want to challenge that today.

There was a time I felt like I "had" to be in church to tithe. But that's not actually true. With electronic giving, you can give as soon as you receive — no waiting for Sunday.

I get it — bringing your tithe or offering to church in person feels important. But if you're tempted to spend what belongs to God, it may be a good idea to get it out of your hands. Jesus died so we don't have to go through a priest to reach God. If prayer has no boundaries, why are we placing a boundary on how or when we give?

Can't give electronically? Write the check now and place it in your Bible for Sunday, or get a money order so it's already out of your account. Just don't give God your leftovers — whatever's left after your poor decisions already spent it.

This payday, try this: before you pay a bill, before you spend a dollar anywhere else, give your tithe or offering first. Let it be the very first thing your money does.

This week we talked about patient endurance — trusting God with the process, not just the outcome. Giving first is patience in action. It's trusting Him with what you have today, not just what you hope to have someday.
