Don’t Miss This Back-to-School Savings Opportunity | Payday Tip

Hebrews 12:11 Newsletter

Good morning Reader,

Have you checked to see if your state is offering a back-to-school sales tax holiday?

These weekends allow you to shop for certain school-related items without paying sales tax—and that can make a big difference, especially when your kids have outgrown everything over the summer (hello, new wardrobe!).

In theory, I think this is a great idea. But in practice? We still have to be wise stewards. Sales can be helpful, but they can also tempt us to overspend. So as you get ready to shop, here are a few tips to keep your budget intact:

Payday Tip

  • Set your budget before you shop. A sale is not a reason to spend more than you planned.
  • Compare prices online beforehand. Sometimes you’ll find a better deal before the rush even starts.
  • Check return policies. Make sure you can exchange or get store credit if something doesn’t work out.
  • Check your local news or state revenue website to confirm the dates for your state’s sales tax holiday—each state is different!

I’m praying for all the parents gearing up for back-to-school shopping—that you find the right fit, the right price, and yes, even the right color! May the shelves be stocked with everything you need.

Have a great weekend!
