It's the last Friday of the month — and if you're on a biweekly pay schedule, you just got a third paycheck this month.

Let's not get too excited.

Your next payday is still two weeks away. And your first of the month bills? They're coming right on time whether you're ready or not.

So before you do anything else today, ask yourself — are my first of the month bills secured?

This is exactly why we build our budgets in advance. When you plan ahead, the weird payday timing doesn't catch you off guard. You already know where every dollar is going before it hits your account.

Payday Tip – Before you spend anything from that third paycheck, open your budget and confirm these are covered first:

• Rent or mortgage
• Utilities
• Any other first of the month expenses

Then — and only then — decide what to do with the rest.
