Are you prepared for the raise? | Payday Tip

Hebrews 12:11 Newsletter

Good morning Reader,

You can add income to your household in two ways: cut expenses or increase income. Today, let's focus on cutting expenses.

Sure, you can cut cable or negotiate your cell phone plan. But there's another way to give yourself a raise: pay off debt.

I remember the relief Jonathan and I felt when we paid off one of our vehicles. It felt so good, and it gave us more flexibility to enjoy life and take care of what we needed.

Here's your payday tip: have the conversation now about what you'll do once the debt is paid off. A few things to consider:

  1. Will we apply the snowball method to the next debt?
  2. Will we loosen up in some struggle areas of our budget (groceries, gas, kids' expenses)?
  3. Will we save more?
  4. Will we grow our enjoyment fund?

You can do a combination of these — the goal is to have a plan. Without one, your spending can creep back up, and you end up right back in the same cycle of debt. That's exactly what we don't want.

If you want help building that plan, book your strategy consultation. It's $47, and we'll map out exactly what to do with that money once the debt is gone.

Have a good weekend!
