A Quick Financial Check-Up Before Year-End | Payday Tip

Hebrews 12:11 Newsletter

Good morning Reader,

Last week, I shared how you can set one last goal for the year. It’s not too late to reach it — but before you start running off to the races, maybe it’s time for a quick tune-up.

Let’s make sure your finances are running in good order before the year ends. Here are a few ways to get started:

1️⃣ Review your expenses. Compare your bank statement or online account with your list of bills. Have you added those “surprise” expenses you keep forgetting about?
2️⃣ Check your subscriptions. Something you needed in one season may not be necessary now. Cancel what you’re not using.
3️⃣ Plan for year-end costs. Are you prepared for expenses like property taxes or annual renewals?
4️⃣ Adjust your budget. Take a look at your grocery, gas, dining, and shopping categories. Making your budget realistic sets you up for success.
5️⃣ Review your income changes. Did you get a raise recently (for my higher ed friends)? Make sure to increase your retirement contribution or investment amount so your savings grow with you.

A few small tweaks now can help you finish the year strong — and start the new one with confidence.m.

Have a great weekend!
