I remember this day. It was the week of my friend's 21st birthday, April 2007. We laughed and had a great time. What they didn't know was that I was struggling. I was a college student with two apartments in my name. Lack of knowledge led me to live sleeping in an apartment with no furniture. To top it off, I rented furniture for one week to hide the truth from my parents. I never wanted to experience that again. That summer in my accounting class, I decided that one day I would help people to never have my experience.
Hi, I'm Latrisa Pugh Griffin, founder of Pugh Financial Coaching. The journey to make it to this point was not perfect. It has been progressive. I have grown from having $500 in overdraft fees in a year, to two apartments in my name, to failed attempts to save, to graduating college with a 700+ credit score, and purchasing my first vehicle with 0% interest.
I learned from my mistakes. As I grew in my finances, I have been able to see the impact on my bank account and my life. After earning my master's in financial planning, I have been teaching and coaching financial literacy for over a decade.
Growing in my finances has not only been a blessing to me but also in preparation for my family. It isn't enough for me to have this freedom. I want you to have freedom too.
In my workshop, I will teach you how to save. Yes, I know what is recommended for your emergency fund is $1,000 minimum and 3-6 months of expenses. However, there is a lot between $1,000 and 3-6 months!
The frustration and disappointment of not being able to take care of major expenses can be overwhelming. This is why I am inviting you to my free workshop.
During this workshop, you will learn:
- The purpose of savings,
- What to save for
- How to calculate your savings target
- How to include your savings target in your budget
Applying these concepts will transform the way you think about finances and give you the breathing room that you need.
After this workshop, you will walk away with the tools to set the standard for YOUR family. It is good to have a recommended amount. It is better to know your actual amount. Join me so you can learn your savings target and reduce the stress that comes with unexpected expenses.
